Yaesu FT-102 HF Transceiver Power Supply Capacitor Replacement Kit This is a electrolytic capacitor replacement kit for the Yaesu FT-102 transceiver. The kit will replace the capacitors on Rectifer A and Rectifier B boards and the HV power supply . The FT-102 is truly a collector's item for the vintage ham radio enthusiast and represents one of the best of the '80's in HF gear. Electrolytic capacitors have a design life span which one has to recognize if the intent is to keep your FT-102 running for a long time to come. Electrolytics over time change value due to leakage, electrical stress, heat exposure etc. The capacitors have been replaced with the exact value of the original, but in many cases I was able to take advantage of smaller modern day components increasing the voltage rating of the replacement unit. The HV capacitors are higher in capacity(150uf), but are the same diameter with only half the height. The higher capacitance will stiffer the power supply, and provide higher output due to better regulation. All capacitors are brand new and are manufactured by Nichicon/Panasonic. Please note the photo is generic to cover a wide range of Yaesu and Kenwood kits. Technical Notes: - There is no re-tuning of the radio required as the capacitors being changed are power supply related. - Included in the kit is an installation guide to help those along who might feel a bit nervous doing this type of board work.
