Description

This is a rare salad fork in Wallace Silver's Vogue II pattern that was designed by William S. Warren (1887-1965). Vogue II pieces are extremely hard to find. This streamlined classical design was patented in 1935, and is marked: LUXOR PLATE - WALLACE. The fork measures 6 5/8" in length and is in good vintage condition with minor abrasions to the surface. And most of those are on the back of the fork. This rare pattern is included in Jewel Stern's landmark book: Modernism in American Silver: 20th-century Design (New Haven: Yale University Press, 2005), pp. 123-125, as well as several American museum collections.
