For sale is your choice(s) of nice "Black Beauty" SPRAGUE "Buffer" capacitors, left behind in the radio electronics inventory of my late father. He was an active HAM radio operator for over 70 years, and was a radio and other electronics serviceman for much of his life. He always kept a generous inventory of spare and replacement parts on hand, for speedy service calls for his customers, available for walk-in customers to his service shop, and handy for his own electronics projects. All his components were stored in a dry, smoke-free environment. A "buffer" is a capacitor that can be used in switching power supplies to buffer voltage and provide high-peak currents for short-term loads. This can result in more power and torque for drive motors, while also reducing the load on the power supply. These capacitors are SPRAGUE Difilm Black Beauty molded Tubular Buffers, 1600 WVDC. There are 3 that are marked MB-S50. It appears they are mis-marked MB-S5 capacitors, as they don't appear exactly that way in the catalogs, and they test exactly as the MB-S5 ones. Two of them test at 0.0529 and 0.0558 uf. One is slightly higher, and tests at 0.0639, which is above the 20% tolerance. I'll sell that one cheaper, which is nice if you can use that rating. There is one 03-1600 MBS3 capacitor which is used, and the leads have been clipped. However, this one tests well, at 0.0346, and is within tolerance. (Also cheaper, since the leads are clipped.) Notice that I have set up the shipping to only charge for the first capacitor purchased, and any additional ones will be shipped with it for no additional shipping charges.
