Here is a rejuvenated and upgraded Magnavox EL84 PP console amp. (I believe it was a 9304 model, if I remember correctly.) I have reconditioned/upgraded a number of these over the years. This one came to me with some upgrades already made by a previous owner in the form of a number of power supply capacitors replacing some or all of the original can capacitors. (These are the various black ones you see in the underside picture.) I don't know why or exactly how this was done, but the amp performed just fine when I tested it before adding my upgrades. After cleaning the chassis, my upgrades were: Replace the coupling capacitors with new ones; Reroute the AC power wire to the rear panel; Add a safety fuse in the AC incoming power; Add a power switch and power indicator lamp to the front panel; Install decent speaker binding posts on the rear panel; Add 4 pair of RCA input jacks on the rear panel; Add an input selector switch and volume control potentiometer to the front panel; Add wooden side trim boards. The included tubes are 4 JJ EL84, 2 Magnavox branded 6EU7, and 1 5U4 rectifier tube. The end result is a nice looking, good sounding EL84 PP tube amplifier with 4 line level inputs and volume control. (The input selector is a 6 way switch but only 2,3,4,5 positions are used, positions 1 and 6 are not active.) I don't know the exact watts per channel output, common estimates for this Magnavox model are 12 to 15 watts per channel. I have used this amp in a bedroom system driving several different monitor type speakers, it plays plenty loud and sounds very good. (Caution, this is a tube amplifier with dangerous voltages. There is no bottom cover so the amp must not be handled when power is on.) Shipping only to lower 48 states, via UPS Ground.
