Realistic character* baby .... Wonderful, 19" long, life-size, antique bisque, German character baby, circa 1909 , incised on the back of his head: K*R/100 50 with beautiful, blue painted intaglio eyes with great detail to molded eyelids, beautifully molded, open/closed mouth with tongue outline, (no opening) realistically modeled, full cheeks and chin, dimples, quizzical eyebrows, gorgeous complexion and molded and painted, solid dome, blond hair and big ears. Often referred to as the * Kaiser baby, (no connection ever found) this very realistically modeled infant was manufactured in Germany by Kammer & Reinhardt and has his original fully jointed, composition, bent-limb, baby body with original finish and all fingers and toes complete (normal paint wear with no repainting). He wears a wonderful antique, fine white cotton, baby doll gown with embroidered bodice and short sleeves. He also wears a sweet little, baby doll bonnet with open work embroidery and lovely pink ribbon rosettes and pink satin ribbon trim. He is in excellent condition with no damages, no hairlines or chips, no repairs and no odors and is from our smoke free nursery. His clothing is in mint condition, as well, with no fading, no stains or odors. His two smaller baby brothers are not included and are listed separately.
